Communication: How do you respond ?
Communication is how individuals
connect with one another and it happens on a daily basis. There are many
different forms of communication. There could be visual, verbal, audio, and
written communication. Verbal communication is one that is well responded to. When
you are verbally interacting, things are easier to remember because we know
what is said. The next form is audio. Things like music are easy to respond to
because we constantly hearing a song. L. Written communication is not the best
to respond to. Some people often get distracted when reading and lose the
focus. Lastly, Visual is always well responded to because people can easily
take a snapshot of what they see in their heads.
For visual communication there are
many necessary tools to make the visual memorable. Type and font is a necessary
tool in in visual communication. Depending on the font of letters, suggests the
type of mood you’ll be going for. For example, a script would suggest more of
an elegant or fun mood type. The second necessary tool would have to be color.
A good color scheme can make or break you visual. Color is something that is
always memorable even if you don’t remember what the visual really looks like. Symbols
and image are not always used in every visual but they can make the visual
stronger. They give a little more to the visual and provide something that
someone can always remember from just a glance.
One company that has a have strong
visual communications is YouTube. Their logo is a symbol of a red box with a
play button in the middle. Without the word YouTube next to it, you are able to
recognize who they are just by the symbol itself. YouTube has grown into such a
huge sight and they have shown that their PR packaging and visual communication
is very strong. They have often sent YouTube stars awards with their faces and
the play symbol congratulating them on their growing YouTube page.
Another company with strong communication is
Louis Vuitton. Their simple LV logo has been featured on many of their items,
whether it’s a handbag or a stiletto heel. Not to mention they have a signature
color of the brown and beige as their main print. With all the season
collections that Louis Vuitton has had they find a way to make their simple
logo print into something new every time.
Lastly, Amazon had
proven that they are a great company. The logo itself features the word Amazon
with a yellow curved line under. That line represents a smile, symbolizing them
keeping their customers happy. They always feature their logo on the outside of
their box, even when it is coming from another vendor.
Visual communication
has is a very strong part of branding a company or individual. It will always
be the easiest for costumers to respond and connect to. A good way to know if
the visual communication is good is if it is memorable.
